Yes I Can (1990) What happens to a talking can, bottle and newspaper when they are thoughtlessly thrown away instead of sent to the recycling center is the story behind “Yes I Can,” a twenty minute live-action musical short for children. Commissioned by the City of Long Beach, California, as part of their environmental education program, “Yes I Can” received an Emmy Award nomination for its inventive use of puppets and real people to dramatize the importance of recycling.
Written, directed and co-produced by Gregory Orr, the film includes special effects by movie industry veterans the Chiodo Bros (www.chiodobros.com) and an original song composed by Robbie Sherman (next generation of the famous songwriting team behind Mary Poppins).
“A delightful film that puts garbage in its place.”
