The Day They Died: A two-hour special for The History Channel that examines how famous people in history met their end. It follows the premise that how someone died is often as compelling as how they lived. Stories include the deaths of America's founding fathers, including John Adams and Thomas Jefferson who died on the same day in 1826 as the country was celebrating its 50th anniversary, to Sigmund Freud, father of psychoanalysis who took his own life with the help of a sympathetic doctor and an overdose of morphine.
